What do you think about the "Illegal Immigrant" situation...?

the government wants to kick illegal immigrants out of america...if we didnt have them in our country, many important jobs would not be done...some americans are complaining that they are taking all our jobs...but really, why are we complaining? exactly how bad was their (the american's)interview??? i mean, c'mon! some of them(immigrants)dont speak english AT ALL...and plus they'll ask for less money and get the job done right...and they work at places like Mcdonald's or some liquor store, or perhaps mow lawns...if they all left , business would run entirely low...also email me your opinion and reasons at ffoxrider@yahoo.com

we need immigrants to keep our economy going. The only bad thing is that they don't assimilate well.
Reply:Well, they ARE illegal, but they should stay. As legals. I bet the US would have an hugely increased demand of laborers when they're kicked out.

they refuse to learn english, they are slobs, and they think they own everything! we shouldnt be hiring them. it's selfish to hire them for cheap, when there are other Americans needing jobs. if they weren't here more jobs would be open, the ppl working at those jobs would make money, and our economy would go up!
Reply:we dont need immigrants to work in this country though a few people profit from this. For example 2 percent of illegals pick fruit in LosAngelos county. 29 percent collect welfare WHAT IS THAT!! We have few illegals working in the midwest and didn't even notice "a day without mexicans" the rest of the country could do fine without them also. We need to jail employers, end services for illegals, let them take themselves back, jail them if they don't before deporting them. Six months to a year in a jail, like the one in Phoenix AZ would send the right message before deporting.

We can get along just fine without them.If Mexico is so wonderful and they are so proud of it,they should stay there and fix it's problems rather then adding to ours.

Reply:Listen, if all the illegal immigrants left, then the farms could finally modernize, thus harvesting costs would actually DROP! Plus, it's been shown that an increase in labor costs would have a MINIMAL affect on retail costs.


The destruction of our schools, the closing of our emergency rooms, the loss of cultural identity, the waste of TAX PAYER MONEY is a much bigger cost than a Hamburger at McDonald's suddenly costing 89 cents.

Reply:Illegals draw welfare by stealing people's social security numbers and identities. That means there are a lot of people being directly hurt by these people as well. Innocent people are having their credit ratings ruined, having IRS problems, and social security problems. If someone who has had their social security number stolen gets married, if either spouse dies or become disabled then they can be denied their benefits.





My family moved to the US before WWII. Those of my family that didn't make it over got killed by the death camps. Our family assimilated to the American culture. We didn't expect the Americans to change to suit us. The illegal immigrants from Mexico are not civilized like that.





They not only changed the National Anthem to Spanish, they changed the words. They already burn our flag and hang our flag upside down. They waved the Mexican flag during a lot of their protests. Some schools have stopped hanging the American flag and forbidden students from wearing clothes with any part of the American flag on their clothing all to keep from offending the Mexicans. It's nothing short of an attack of our country, not only by the illegal aliens, but those who seek to appease them.





I am tired of the stereotype that Americans wouldn't do the work that illegals do. Illegals do all kinds of jobs for less than minimum wage which drives the wages down for U.S. citizens. Construction jobs are an example. There are lots of illegals doing construction jobs that Americans used to do because the companies can keep more of the profits if they pay less for the workers. All that does is make companies wealthier and Americans poorer. Illegals are stealing jobs that Americans have done for years.





If you go to a country and refuse to assimilate, continuing to speak your own language then you are really not an immigrant -- you're a colonist ... and that's what the Mexicans are doing, they're colonizing the American Southwest as part of their "reconquista" Read about mecha in the link I provided and you'll see what the Mexicans real agenda is.

Reply:This is a tough issue to tackle. "The illegals" as many chose to label them are just people attempting to make a better living. The notion that they are destroying America and stealing it's culture is ridiculous, mainly because this country was founded by immigrants. I was born here but my parents are immigrants. The same is true for everyone. So those that continuously say 'kick the immigrants out' are saying not just kick out Mexicans, but the German immigrants, Asian immigrants, every immigrant here should be thrown out. Immigrants have contributed everything to this country and those who say otherwise are ungrateful of what has been given to them. These people work hard and do the best with what has been given to them. 'American culture' is really a blend of many other cultures. that is the beauty of America and it's culture. There should be room for compromise, which I'm not hearing much of. There is the extremist "throw them out" and then the other side saying that nothing should be done. Maybe the government should make becoming a citizen a simpler process. If this were to happen, than maybe so many people wouldn't come to this country illegally. I do think something should be done but not by hurting people and the families that have already been created here.
