Time to stop eating meat? FDA allowing unlabelled cloned meat in the marketplace...?

The FDA has now PUBLICLY approved untrackable, unlabled cloned meat into our market.

9 out of 10 this has already been out there and it is the reason your 13 yr olds look 20 but now it is in the open.

C-SPAN had a live interview session with several FDA members from several divisions and there was a lot of dodging and circle talking.

One main question they avoided extremely well altogether is:

Didn't the FDA do any type of surveying or polling as to whether the people feel they would like cloned meat labelled or not labelled?

they skipped this question ENTIRELY saying they wanted to go on to another area of questioning.

Another question was that if cloned meat was introduced:

Would they be able to track it to tell the difference?

The FDA member basically said the company processing the meat and would be the ones to ask this question as well as leaving the "option" of labelling the meat CLONED up to the company introducing it to the market.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

Time to stop eating meat? FDA allowing unlabelled cloned meat in the marketplace...?
The people have no say in anything under the pretense of "the governement knows what's best for you".

Hell, have you read The Patriot Act??

Cloned meat is the LEAST of our worries. I've been screaming about Operation Garden Plot and the FEMA internment camps (Rex 84) for a while now and no one seems to care as long as they have their creature comforts...which are all about to be taken away with the stroke of the presidential pen on some nasty executive orders that make allowances to exterminate half the population.

I agree. People need to wake up now.
Reply:First off, this isn't a question...

Second off, does it really matter???

I mean, if I'm gonna eat a hamburger, why do I care how the cow that became said hamburger was conceived?

I'm not trying to be a douche here. I honestly don't know why it would matter. If, however, you'd care to explain why I should be concerned, then perhaps I will be....

EDIT:

Okay, so, from your "Additional Details", I can assume that you believe that this is far more of a bioethics issue than a health issue; right? Fair enough. I don't know enough about the bioethics of the cloning debate to have a reasoned, lucid opinion here, so I'll refrain from further participation on this question....

Thanks for giving me some food for thought, though. (Pardon the pun......)
Reply:I heard it on the news

and the MEDIA says

nothing is wrong and it is perfectly OK to eat it

just as you would eat it from a normal "cow"

%26amp; that cloned, has no difference

but you may prove a point;
Reply:I will just have to be that much more fervent about buying organic--at least those growers are proud of their product, and sell real food.

This ruling is yet another example of the American citizen being given the backseat to corporate America.
Reply:I am so annoyed by the FDA I can't believe it. My background is science based and I am shocked and appalled at this decsion. I did not think they would cave due to popular opinion.
Reply:No need to tell me! I stopped eating meat 21yrs ago.
Reply:so what....

tastes the same to me....

It will result in healthier livestock which are more resistent to disease.

So what is the health risk problem exactly ?, besides the fact that you don't like the "idea" of eating cloned animals ?
