Is it legal for the private Lutheran high schools to discriminate in enrollement of other religions?

My Daughter has attended Salem Lutheran School since she was two years old. All these years her parent's religion was not an issue. Now that she is getting to go to high school, she is placed on hold. She is honor student and on the principle list. Many of her friends that were admited were C or B average students. In the interview they ask her what her religion was and if she attends church. I believe that is the only reason she is on the waiting list and nothing else. She is heart broken to be separated from all her friends.

It may be the reason, it may not be. If they are a full school, they are in the position of picking and choosing who they want to admit. If it is a private school with no federal or state support, I believe they can hold her out. Would it hurt to ask them, calmly why she hasn't been approved.
Reply:I think you should look for the answer in the US Constitution. Doesn't it forbid any discrimination based on sex, age, race, personal beliefs or religion? If it does, there should be no exception to that!

But, before that, be sure your daughter as better grades than the admited students (or, at least, equal grades).
