How can voter fraud be prevented, so that vote counts are accurate?

Did you see the C-SPAN "Washington Journal" interview with Suhatha Jahagirdar of the (Iowa) New Voter Project http://www.c-span.org/videoarchieves.asp...

Please note: http://www.iowapirgstudents.org/new-vote... (Is a few thousand votes insignificant????)

How can voter fraud be prevented, so that vote counts are accurate?
There are only two surefire solutions, and both must be instituted to maintain integrity at the polls.

1: require photo identification for all voters showing up that day. This will prevent illegal aliens from voting, as well as dead people, dogs, and whatever other tricks people might try in order to swing the election in their favor.

2: Where electronic voting has been instituted, keep paper records in order to be sure that the machines took an accurate vote. Voters should be able to be assured that their vote was properly counted.
Reply:Good choice for best answer. Absentee ballots can be a problem, but are necessary for many in the military, and some others. Report It

Reply:Firestorm has it right.

Also when they started requiring photo ID in our state I had to show it even though the people working the polls know me, Hell my wife was working the polls too and sitting right beside the person asking! But rules are rules.
Reply:I like what Firestorm said. ID should be required ( I don't even have to show my voter registration card) and there seems to be a lot of controversy over the electronic voting machines that needs to be addressed.

The democrats won't allow the photo ID requirement because it is "racist."
Reply:Require identification at the polls!
Reply:Unfortunately, there will always be voter fraud. All you can do is try to institute reasonable measures to lessen voter fraud without restricting the right to vote. Picture ID is a good start. Proof of citizenship, at the least, should be mandatory.
