What does this mean about this interview?

I had a job interview recently. The Human Resources called me a few hours later and said Im one of their top Candidates for the position.. I just need a background check..


So what are my chances of getting the job? If I come back clear which( i will) am i hired? I dont understand b/c if there is other candidates how do they choose after a background check is completed?/ thank you I always give best answers!

The background is usually the first step in the hiring process. Since it costs money to run background screens, most companies will only run checks on candidates that they want to hire. Sounds like you definetely have a chance. Good Luck!
Reply:Yes, they usually do a background check once they have made their decision. Once they do a background check, if they do not find something that will exclude you from the job, they have to hire you.





Ask them how long it will take for them to get the background check back. Then give them time for them to get it back, if they do not call you within a day of when they should have gotten it back, call them and inquire if they have recieved it back. You should expect an offer.
Reply:Based on what you said, I'd say that you're in a good position to get the job. Remember that background checks cost money. Your future employer would not spend the money on a background if they did not want you to work for them.
