It appears that ever since the new law came into force in the UK, the RSPCA is now behaving like a third rate police force. Is no longer a case of "can we be of help or assistance"? It is now a case of "You have committed an offence"....and that is immeadiatly followed up by "The reading of a caution"..and make no mistake, its a rip off of on what a police officer reads you when they caution you. And once they remove your animal, you will be lucky, after they have given you a formal interview if you ever see your pet again. And you can contaqct them till your blue in the face....at best they ignore you. As well as this, they stage raids on other people who are known for caring for animals and remove the animals from their care. I have witnessed the rspca at work first hand since the new law was brought in and i have radically changed my view of them. Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals? Nope, its: Really Stupid People Creating Aggrevation.
Has the R. S. P. C. A. gone power mad?.....?
I agree with you. The RSPCA are the richest charity in the UK because they know how much Britons think of their animals. I once called them because there was a puppy in agony on a pavement after being hit by a car. They refused to come out telling me instead to call the local council. I knew that the council would just put the animal down after 7 days and so I paid the vets bill. Oh yes, and I also cancelled the £500 per year I gave to the RSPCA. They ignored my letters and 'phone calls about the matter.
Reply:they behave like animals
Reply:Have had reasons in the past years to try to get help for truly sick or injured animals and the RSPCA have never wanted to know ..... so have not bothered with them for years they are useless .
Reply:If in doing this, they are protecting animals from being hurt or badly neglected, then all power to them.
Its about time they showed their teeth,
'can we be of help or assistance' doesnt have a lot of effect with some people who are making animals suffer.
Reply:Righto... the RSPCA were fine when they came to check up on us - a neighbour of ours told them that our pet sheep were being mistreated (I don't know why, maybe they saw a goose peck them or something) but they came out and said we had the best looking sheep they've seen.
They don't take animals unless they are worried about them, aren't you a little bit grateful that someone has an eye out for animals?
Reply:they do a good job
Reply:From the details in your question it sounds like Corruption.
Reply:Have you ever tried Crispy puppy...its very nice..
Reply:I lived nextdoor to a cat horder whos cats were in bad need of medical attention and somewhere safe to stay (she kept them outside all year with no shelter and a wire net over the top of them) when i called the rspca "we cant help unless they are really skinny" never mind the fact there were cats dying due to neglect and lack of medical treatment! the stench was so bad we couldnt go in our garden in summer!
i know of a few cases that they have delt with that needed the animals taking for their safety and they never were. One including a riding school whos horses were so thin that you could see every bone and they had no muscle what was their answer? "we will give you a year to get the horses fatter" lets say the schools owner was happy as she moved a few months later and took the horses to somewhere even more run down!
Im sure that when they do actually go and do their work that they do it well but from what i have seen they dont do much with their money. have you ever been to an rspca rehoming centre? i have and lets just say they should put more money into their centres and less on coloured paper clips!
Reply:So what cruelties did you inflict on your poor pet?
Reply:Ive not heard of anything like that, if its true then they will lose all respect from the public along with donations. They have to be willing to help and only take the aminal after a court order is granted. They are not able to act like that on their own.
Reply:The rspca is a good thing, if you have a problem with them then maybe you should not have animals. They work to protect and ensure animals welfare, not to kiss *** and make the people happy. They are for the animals and I support them in their job.
Sometimes people need to stand up for the animals, and if that pisses off a few people, oh well.
they will just have to deal
Reply:having fostered many animals that have been abused by their owners and took off them by the rspca i think they should have more power to save these animals, they dont take your pet away from you for no reason so if you dont neglect/abuse your animals you have nothing to worry about do you !!!
Reply:Anyone in Scotland and N Ireland don't donate to RSPCA its the mistake that a lot of people do but RSPCA is for England and Wales. Ulster and Scotland have their own the SSPCA in Scotland and the USPCA in Ulster.
Oh and RSPCA still take donations from people from N Ireland and Scotland instead of fowarding them to SSPCA or the USPCA.
