I always figure "what's the point", b/c my brother tells her everything I tell him and vice versa. She's been kind of helping me out, but I don't know if I should tell her or wait until I get hired.
Is it wrong that I didn't want to tell my mother about a job interview that I had?
I have never told my parents when I was going on an interview. They would see me all dressed up with my portfolio, but they would never say anything and I wouldn't tell them anything. I just didn't want them to get their hopes up. And I think they knew if they started asking questions, I'd get nervous and distant. But, when I got the job, they were the first to know.
Reply:I think you should tell her yourself. You need to make sure your not doing this behind her back, cause if your mom don't like where you work or the hours you will not have that job long.
Reply:perhaps your mother meddles. it isnt a crime, the intentions of a mother are never bad, though their technique leaves something to be desired a lot of the time. you probably have her hovering over you alot, always offering her advice and so on... you are doing this because it is probably some of the little bit of independence you feel you have left. you want to do this on your own, by yourself.
Reply:No, but she feels left out.
Reply:You should tell your mother about your interview. And she shouldnt be hearing things from your brother she should hear it from you. Also there is nothing wrong with getting some support and ecouragment from your mother. GOOD LUCK. I hope you get the job.
