I was recently interviewed for a managerial position (great benefits, great company) in the Middle East where I've been living for the past year.
Although Canadian and new to this country I felt that some of the q's were inappropriate...Can anyone comment:
a. How will your fiance feel about you travelling with other men all the time (this is the first time I felt BAD about looking good)
b. We want to meet with him and hear how he feels about it (I felt like a little child who needs to bring parents to school)
c. Do you want to get married in the next few years? This job requires 100% committment so no time for planning a family in the next 5 years... (Can they do this really???Put me in prison won't you)
Help...anyone?
Were q's at the job interview appropriate?
Those questions are illegal in western countries so I guess there is nothing you can do about it. Why get into a job like this anyway? Even if it pays well a job should be uplifting not restricting.
Peace and blessings!
Reply:Here in the US, those questions wouldn't be allowed. (At least #3 wouldn't - a %26amp; b are borderline.) But in another country, it's hard to say.
Reply:I feel these questions are inappropriate. They want to meet your fiance so he can assure them you have his permission???????? I'll bet they would not have asked a man similar questions.
