Can anyone tell me why it is so hard to interview?

A couple of my friends graduated from U.C. berkeley with a B.A. degree in finance. However, they are looking for a job and they really don't know how to interview. So, can anyone tell me why it is so hard for to interview just for an entry level position? What will it take to get my friends to get hired?

Be warm, friendly, polite and well-presented in interviews.

Answer the question being asked, don't waffle or over-exaggerate qualifications/situations; they'll know you're spoofing!

Interviewers like you to have examples of how you've shown particular skills; leadership, initiative, teamwork etc from various aspects of life e.g. college, sports, previous jobs, volunteer work etc.

Don't come across as someone just looking for a job, do a little research about the company first so you can ask intelligent questions and also field any the interviewer might ask you.

A friend of mine works in HR and says these are the key points that prospective employees are judged on.
Reply:BE PREPARED!

Know all about that company as well as the parent company or corporation to which you are interviewing. Ask pertinent questions relating to the position for which you are applying. Practice answering some simple questions in front of friends. Also be able to answer questions about your educational background and why you feel this job is a perfect fit for you.
