Have you ever avoided getting into a relationship b/c you weren't where you wanted to be in life yet?

i think sometimes we date and seek out the people who we secretly want to be. ex: the shy nerd who plays sidekick to the loud, bold person. but sometimes this can be damaging.

i was in a relationship a few years ago where my bf (now ex) was pretty much the epitome of what i wanted to be, he was confient, funny, could strike up a convo with anyone, and b/c he had this infectious personality he charmed his way into so many jobs (which he just as often quit without notice) it wasn't funny. I've always been shy, was socially awkward, and was so nervous about job interviews that most times I just wouldn't even apply thinking they won't hire me i have no experience. i was beating myself down mentally.

Well 2 years later I'm single, outgoing, have a fantastic job record and ive grown so much i want to start dating again but i'm nervous about meeting someone else who is farther along in life (focused and on the fast track) and risk falling into that same pit. anyone else feel this way?

Life is full of mysteries. You need to put yourself out there again and take the risk it brings!
Reply:I had a guy tell me that he "wasn't in the right place in life" but he went out with me anyway.....ended very badly.
Reply:I always think that things happen at their own pace for a reason.
