To try and make a long story short, I interviewed with this particular company twice, and went in a third time to give a presentation b/c after the second interview I was told it was b/w me and another guy. I sent thank you emails after each time I went in. I felt the presentation went extremely well and after I was done one of the guys in the room said I was in “good position.” The presentation was last Wednesday (12/12). I was told that day that they would make a decision by Friday (12/14).
It’s now Monday afternoon and I haven’t heard anything. Should I wait it out or should I call or email and follow up with HR? If you think I should wait it out, how much longer should I wait before I follow up? I’m nervous as hell b/c I thought I sealed the deal with the presentation but now I don’t know.
Should I wait or follow up about a job I interviewed for 3 times?
Definitely follow up. But I wouldn't follow up with HR, since they don't ultimately make the decision (basically, HR the powerless lackeys). Instead I'd call the hiring manager (the one you'll be working for) directly. They just might be waiting to see if you do this, since follow up is since a critical part of sales. I'd leave a voice mail and if you don't hear back try them again a few hours later. Leave only one voice mail but keep calling them until they pick up the phone.
Most companies miss deadlines so this isn't necessarily a bad thing. But do follow up.
Reply:Follow up. They said they would make a decision by Friday.
Reply:I don't think it would hurt to shoot a little email to their hr department. They told you Friday and it is now Monday so I would follow up. Good Luck!
