A - When did you decide to be a bodyguard?

I wanted to know ...At which stage in his life the opportunity to become President's Bodyguard had been presented to him.

B - What other jobs have you done?

I asked him....."What occupations have you had since school; have you always been in the military?"

C - Will you always work as a bodyguard?

I asked him ...."You obviously seem to enjoy your present position, do you foresee your future as always being a bodyguard?"

D - What will happen do your job after the election?

I asked him.."Does your positon depend on the outcome of Presidential Elections or are you always assigned as a member of a 'pool' of employees who are always available to be bodyguards, irrespective of who wins an election?".

These suggestions might be what you require :-)

Good Luck...

Should I call a potential employer if told they'd get back to me within 1-1/2 weeks and it's been over that?

I've had two job interviews, meeting with 12 professionals total and every interview went fantastic. I know my references have been checked b/c they told me that the interviewer sounded excited with their answers. Now I'm just waiting to hear if I got the job. The only thing is, I was told that it would take 1-1/2 weeks before I'd hear back from them b/c they were also trying to schedule an interview with another person. It's been almost 2 weeks now. Should I sit tight at wait or call/email my potenial new boss? If yes, what should I say?

Should I call a potential employer if told they'd get back to me within 1-1/2 weeks and it's been over that?
I would call. Tell them you are just following up and would like an idea of how much longer it may take for them to make a decision. Think about it. If the other person is calling them for status, they are more on their minds than you. Let them know you are anxious for a decision.
Reply:Agreed, its been more than the 10 days they promised.

Time to call, but do not sound anxious.
Reply:yes!
Reply:it might be just me, but I would most likely wait a little while to call. All though I haven't been to many job interviews but I think that if they were really excited about you applying then they will get back to you. They might just be a little behind schedule etc. I wouldn't want to bother them. Maybe wait a few more days, if possible to call then. Unless it is manditory, and you are really needing the job, it really depends on your situation.

Who would you give the visa-extension to?

a) Factory Manager: employs 162 citizens as Full Time Equivalents, pays taxes etc. but at the interview he stinks and is dressed sloppy.

b) Interpreter Chinese-English + Arabic-English, all the paperwork is in order, very professional, earns a mint! Swaggers into the interview KNOWING he's getting the visa.

c) Artist. Not the most stable of incomes but he had a great year and he does a great interview. Easy for him because he's genuinely a good guy anyway.

Who gets it?

.

Who would you give the visa-extension to?
The Factory Manager would have a higher priority for getting their visa extended. For employment visas like the one he would be on, either an investors visa or H1B, there is no interview. Instead his lawyer would file the necessary paperwork as well as the filing fee and he would likely get his renewed.
Reply:A) He sounds bad ***
Reply:none...

1. cant dress appropriately

2.too cocky

3.not makin enough $$$
Reply:The first guy, hes honest and is probably a nice fella

What rights does a pregnant woman have when interviewing?

Okay...here's the situation. A school that I subbed for last school year called and told me that they wanted to consider me for a part-time teaching position. The administration knows that I am pregnant and due in late October.

Knowing this, I went through the process of interviewing. Had my 2nd interview today. The superintd. says to me, "Well, obviously your pregnancy is a factor. How much time do you need off? Two weeks?"

I was so taken aback by this comment, that I flat out said, I didn't know...it depended on whether or not I had a C section or regular birth, and the recommendation of my doctors.

2 weeks? Like this is a tonsilectomy or something?

This left me feeling discriminated against. I mean, they contact me. I didn't go hunting for this job. I was called. I was planning on subbing, but I thought that maternity leave was obviously factored in because they know I am preggo. I didn't hide this fact. I told them early on last school year.

Thoughts?

What rights does a pregnant woman have when interviewing?
Wow... well, his comments is uncalled for... unethical... and maybe illegal.

BUT... I think the right way to handle this is to remind him that you're a highly-qualified teacher and you're looking for a long-term career. Sure, you might have to go on maternity leave-- but afterwards, he will have you as a top-quality teacher for decades to come.

If you threaten legal action... or criticize him (in public or private) you'll have even LESS of a chance of getting the job. So, even though he was wrong, just ignore the comments for now.

Perhaps you will still get the job. If not, you can still sub and be a candidate for a position next time around.

Good luck to you!!

hehe... I just read an ebook "Guide to Getting a Teaching Job" ( http://www.iwantateachingjob.com ). In it, there's a section titled, "7 worst things to say at an interview." One of those 7 things was, "I am preganant." You story reminds me of that.
Reply:I'm not sure he violated any rights in interviewing, but he sure did show himself to be ignorant. 2 weeks?

You know, if that is any indication of who this man is, you might be grateful to find out now and avoid working for him. Heaven forbid anything else happen to you, who knows how much time he will think is appropriate!

Good Luck, and I hope you find a job with a better educated boss.
Reply:I believe in most states maturity leave is about 6 weeks.. But i would check.

Why do TV studios put scenic backgrounds during interviews with people not in the studio?

Whenever someone from another city or area comes on during the news or an interview, you can usually see something like an important building (White house in Washington, D.C), and there will be some sort of movement.

Why do TV studios put scenic backgrounds during interviews with people not in the studio?
it makes them look as though theyre sitting in front of a window, sometimes they really r sitting in front of a window, to tell, see if outdoor scenery changes.
Reply:yesterday l saw an author sitting in front of an obvious fake book case. lt looked like wallpaper border put one under the other. l guess they do this for effect. Doesn't "effect" me.
